I have now listened to all this interview. Worthwhile information. Recommended because you will get a good understanding - at least try for 2/3rds of the way.
Suggestions that Israel/Netanyahu threatened or blackmailed the President to comply are dismissed, and that a person doing that would be arrested.
During Trump's first term he developed a war plan for nuclear strikes on Iran. It exists. Ritter says that this is what makes it so dangerous that Trump is president.

Any bombing strike on and in Iran by the USA directly involves the USA in this war.
It is not a 'one off' surgical strike. It is bombing by a foreign nation on a different sovereign country.
Former British Ambassador Sir Richard Dalton, has said that an American attack (such as above) like the Israeli attack, would be illegal, and against International Law. He says that Keir Starmer has said he will abide by International Law. Allowing the US to use the base at Diego Garcia would be illegal and going against International Law.

There are discussions and negotiations taking place and Trump did have to step back on his threats.

Multiple bunker busters intended to be dropped.
Each bomb can penetrate 200 ft of rock and the base is at 300 ft, but it is expected that the force of several bombs dropped will shake everything so much that it will all collapse. The mountain will collapse on itself.
However, this is a war strike by the USA which directly involves the USA in this war. It is not a 'one off' surgical strike. It is bombing by a foreign nation on a sovereign country. That is 'in your dreams' Once the US does that then that is when the war STARTS.
The bunker buster is not a nuke. However, it is believed that the underground facility was built to withstand anything like this.
The US may go in and do this, and the bombs fail, but either way, doing this sets off the retaliation. This bunker buster is a new type of bomb, not tested and they have about 20 of them. The Stealth B2 bombers will be flying from the British territory of Diego Garcia.

Taking out Iran was on a US 'hit list' even before the made up situation for the invasion of Iraq, to "take out 7 countries in 5 years." Iran followed Libya and Syria, next is to be Russia.
This page will provide an overview of the situation the world is in - currently awaiting the next move the US will make. Is it going to use its B-2 bombers to use the bunker buster bombs specific to some targets Israel wants to take out? (Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant.)

Update : Iran's strategy was to bombard Israel with old missiles in order to exhaust their defense supply, which is understood to have been successful. They then moved to hit Israel with hypersonic missiles, less in number, but more deadly, and this is what was happening on the evening of June 17th. Thus 'missile launchers' which Israel claimed it took out, were launching the older missiles, and the follow up hypersonic still followed on. If this is correct, then currently Israel is in trouble. Also Iran did manage to shoot down a number of Stealth F 35's even though their 'air defense systems' were damaged.
The best outcome here is that Israel misjudged and they step back. Then there will not be the obliteration and Gaza style murder of Iranians by Israel's usual playbook.

My comments. I like Scott Ritter! What he describes is very likely, and will be what happens if China and Russia call this arrogant narcissist's bluff. It was good that he got in in 2016 and knocked Hillary out of the race. He did whatever he did as president for 4 years, I don't know, I'm not American. I have no idea what was happening during Biden's presidency. Then Trump ran again and USED the MAGA base and American Christians to get in again, even though Harris was never going to get in anyway.
A problem was unbelieveably obvious from his first posts as the 'Pearl Harbour' type strikes by Israel first began, when he wrote about 'excellent' and 'much more to come' and 'yes I knew the date this was to happen' - while his Secretary of State Marco Rubio put out a notice that the "US was not involved in this, Israel acted unilaterally'.
This also showed that Trump simply cannot stop bragging nor stop taking credit for everything. He absolutely needed to pretend to be surprised by this. That is why he went to the G7 meeting, then had to leave urgently to return to Washington because of the 'growing crisis' he apparently had 'no knowledge of'. That was how it was supposed to look, but Trump blew that.

He also gave an interview on AF One on his flight back to DC and it was almost like his eyes were laughing, like it was a joke. He wants a "better result than a cease fire, he wants an end".

'We' is nothing but Trump using that word in his posts for the purpose of making the average reader afraid that the US is going to bomb them.
He continues in that post saying how much better American made equipment is.
He has also said "We (we?) know exactly where the Supreme Leader is and could easily take him out".
This is Trump playing games because he knows everyone will look at his posts.
There will probably be a big show of the US mobilizing in order to 'frighten' Iran, but if Iran just keeps with the missiles on Israel the situation remains that iran can overwhelm israel's defences. It is all a bluff. This is how Trump thinks.
