The Dogs of the New Returned 'Victoria's Secret' Show!
This video shows some of the acne riddled faces and non model girl faces some are 'okay' as in maybe a shopgirl from a local cafe type of looks, to those who are fat or overly skinny so called 'models'. Nothing like the standard of earlier times. **The CNN video will be added later as there are a few minutes on the actual show below. But this is a comment on the woke and 'diversity hire' taking precedence. that two of the models were men, as well as the horrible image of 'strong women' specifically the usual group of 'truck driver' dancers which the US keeps churning out now. They are shown striding in aggressively - because this is a 'strong woman' - are frequently 'of colour', but not limited to that, very well built, and always rolling their big bums at the camera which in some of the dance numbers means a backside view of their crotches. At least the K-pop image was more 'girlie' and cute, but that's gone for the dance numbers with the K-pop girl in. I also have a bit of an 'over it' issue when the featured artist is kind of not an actual performer and entertainer, but is all about doing the feline stretchy, and 'aren't I fantastic' thing. Have to say Cher was a performer as she should be. There are two segment videos which feature the main highlights added near the end of this page. The finale sees Tyra Banks .return at only 50 but having completely lost her figure and looking more like Oprah Winfrey. This is not a triumph or a 'celebration' because this showed us all that it is a struggle for women to remain looking good, attractive and sexy. This show is exactly what we DON'T want to see! We want to see those who SHOW they look absolutely great. It has taken a bit of time to go through the entire show, because it is an ugly show and does not have the 'fun feel' of earlier shows, although I didn't actually watch or pay much attention to any of the shows ever. Following the aggressive 'truck drivers' there is Kate Moss, now around 50, looks fine, looks 50, but seems unhappy or miserable. I think I would be too if I found I was in a show like this! Victoria's Secret is going to be criticized whatever way it goes. What can Victoria's Secret do to win? Some of the earlier models complained about what they had to do to be employed as a 'VS angel' and that it was too hard to do. Maybe some girls were more able to manage their weight than others, and maybe that's why some had such a hard time keeping the job? Maybe its not the right job for them, but there are still plenty of other modelling jobs. There are celebrities like Victoria Beckham for example who does not have to do anything restrictive to keep how she wants to look, but she does do a lot. She exercises twice a day, and limits herself to mostly the same foods and meals every day - because she is disciplined and wants to do that. It would seem that it really comes down to what you feel is 'hard work' or 'good discipline'. Adriana Lima apparently fasted for 9 days before a show. Is that a bad thing? It is good for the body to fast like that and for that length of time. It is not an unrealistic thing to do. Other issues raised were where the clothes are made, basically places with cheap labour - providing jobs the people are glad to have. We're not going to make a comment on that but there isn't a fashion house anywhere that doesn't have its clothes made up in these places. Finally, the originally owner was associated with Jeffrey Epstein, and that is bad. Now to the actual 'angels' and the product, and the problem of the image they project. Is it going to be about attractive girls, who are an image you can aspire to, including those in an older age group, and those who we can aspire to because they found ways to stay looking good - like for example Salma Hayek and Liz Hurley, or Jane Fonda. . Or is it going to be 'to hell with it' be overweight, dumpy, frumpy looking lingerie, a display 'celebration' of women who have got fat and 'lost it', and men wearing and modelling the lingerie?
My favourites from earlier, were Miranda Kerr and Doutzen Kroes along with quite a few who came from South America.*Mostly because they were nice to look at. I think that is what most of us want to see. If overweight people want to see what the underwear looks like on plus sized models, as shown below, then look in the catalogue or specifically under that category. These people do not belong in an event that is about glamour and beauty - regardless that there are differences in what 'beauty' is. If a former glamorous underwear company now wishes to present itself in a show as not glamorous then they should change the concept to embrace that - but not call it beauty. However, women who look as these ones do, have every right to buy and wear glamorous underwear. This does not make them glamorous models though. Those who are what the world has come to understand as 'beauty' and 'glamour' are usually extremely disciplined in their exercise routines and their eating and lifestyle. They are an example of what can be achieved and maintained. Not everyone is blessed with the basics, not even all models, and it can still take work to be the 'best one can be'. Most women know there are times when things are not so good, so they don't highlight that! Former VS model Tyra Banks who appears in the finale of the 'come back' show, demonstrates one of the horrors that women can go through and if they have any sense of personal dignity, they do NOT want to flaunt, embrace or accept that! They become more discplined to correct as much as they can, or at least wait until they can get passed a phase. When or if it gets to something that cannot be altered, then of course they accept it, but they don't go out and flaunt it. It is an Art of Style, of grace, of knowing how to present yourself.
Also this lump below is listed in the current VS show. I personally do NOT want to look at people who look like this. Have these people put in any effort to try to look attractive or fit?Do they have to eat badly to make sure they get jobs looking like this? Do they not exercise to make sure they get these jobs? New in the Victoria's Secret show which is supposed to represent glamour and good looks. I personally will NEVER buy Victoria's Secret underwear again! (And I actually did very often buy Victoria's Secret underwear from around the late 90's.)The other model we were going to use here is a very underweight Grace Elizabeth who you can see in the CNN video. (added later as there are a few minutes on the actual show below.) Having now gone through the entire list involved, there are quite a few who fit the description of overly skinny of the kind that people used to question in fashion clothes catwalk show. This was not normally the VS model. In the model world there has always been a difference between runway models and swimwear models. Some of the original VS names in this current show would be classed as 'swimsuit models' and they may be older now, but they did look good. The most impressive I think was Eva Herzigová a Czech model who is now 51. But the VS Show is now 'diversity/inclusive'with girls from 'all over the world' - some of whom should maybe have stayed at home. Do I want to see a glamorous fashion show with 'girls' who look like those in these photos do? NO, I don't. This photo above leads to making a comment that is probably not anything someone should say, but there is a quote from someone that this is so revolting and so offensive, that it is almost like you can feel, see, and smell the sweat in her armpits. This woman should have the awareness not to do this. There are other ways that people show beauty and 'self acceptance'. There was an old interview with Britain's Michael Parkinson and Dame Edith Evans who had been a stage actress around 1890 and at the time of the interview, maybe 60 years ago she was in her 80;s. She was absolutely beautiful, a delightful lovely lady. But she wasn't showing that by parading in Victoria's Secret underwear at nearly 90 and trying to make that 'beautiful'. In fact the woman in the photo above actually does have an attractive face although it is not apparent in that photo.
These two pictures below are basically the standard of what I think a Victoria's Secret model 'should' look like to make an attractive show. This is Doutzen Kroes, a Dutch model. I believe in this photo it is after she has had a couple of children and has had to workout to keep her figure. These are two ex VS angels who look lovely but are still normal people with families. Great examples. This photo below is Miranda Kerr also a former VS show model. Miranda has 4 children. Below, Miranda Kerr in August 2024 just before giving birth to her 4th child. She is 41.
This is the 'come back' 2024 show. Hey VICTORIA'S SECRET don't bother to come back!An obnoxious, lacklustre show which surpringly some top name models appeared in like Gigi Haddid. Also Kate Moss who has just turned 50 apparently. Tyra Banks returned as a star guest after 20 years, and showed you and everyone that if you let yourself go, this is what you end up looking like.(WHY would any self respecting woman do this? In fact I thought Tyra Banks was a lot more than just 50, that was a surprise.) *I think all the 'old' names who appeared in this were the ones who did have links to the 'dark side stuff' and they had to do this. This was for the same reasons Sam Smith had to identify with the 'satanic stuff' in his performance at the Grammys. The models do not look all that happy. The owner who was arrested during the last 6 years of no VS shows, was associated with some bad stuff, and the 'wings' were the Luciferian wings to represent Lucifer.
There was a tremendous mount of black in this show, black wings, or satanic red, but overall very 'black'.The opening was Lisa from K-Pop's Blackpink, who the 'entertainment industry' is trying to make a 'name' - but she was nothing much either! This small, thin girl (I think she's the one from Thailand) was the singing act for most of the 'elephants' plodding along the catwalk.Yep, you can see I am not a fan of this! Some nice make-up on the elephants, and Carla Bruni looked okay at 56 yo. and much better than Tyra Banks at 'only' 50!
The finale was the ancient, created star 'Cher' who Ricky Gervais said, 'no he didn't want to see Cher because this isn't the 1970's'. Dancing is a bit weird plus some overweight dancers included. The entire show was full of only women, tall, thin, or extremely fat, and ended with a whole load of them lined up on stage, in suits, singing.
Was this something that was to show Victoria's Secret previous satanic links? The owner was arrested for something to do with the 'dark side' but at the moment, I don't remember what. CNN video Watch
